In 2009, I took the plunge and launched King Accounting Solutions (KAS), my very own bookkeeping firm! But let’s rewind a bit because my love affair with numbers started way before that. As a kid, I used to help my mom with GST returns for my dad’s custom cabinet business – talk about hands-on experience!

Fast forward to my college days at Grant MacEwan, where I earned my administration diploma. Soon after, I found myself at a small CA firm in Edmonton. By day, I was knee-deep in on-the-job training, and by night, I tackled evening courses at NAIT. This double-duty hustle paid off, allowing me to tick off all the pre-requisites for the CA program.

Under the wing of a talented mentor, I dived into the world of personal income taxes, corporate taxes, and even audits. But despite all the excitement, my heart kept pulling me back to the joy of bookkeeping and helping clients year-round. And so, KAS was born, fueled by passion, experience, and a sprinkle of fun! In 2022, realizing that we were so much more than a bookkeeping firm, we re-branded and launched as King Business Solutions (KBS). At KBS, my team and I are always on a mission to keep your books in tip-top shape and ensure you never miss a government deadline – no interest or penalties on our watch! But we don’t stop there. We partner with your entire advisory team – accountants, financial advisors, and lawyers – to help your business thrive. We are, as our name indicates, your best partner in business solutions, helping streamline your business to keep you on track.

When I’m not crunching numbers, you’ll find me exploring the world! Don’t be surprised if you get an email from me while I’m on vacation. I could be enjoying quality time with family in The Netherlands or hitting the golf courses in sunny Arizona. Speaking of golf, my favorite spot is Pipestone in Millet – I even scored a birdie on one hole there!

Watching KBS grow over the years has been an incredible journey, and I couldn’t be prouder. Now, I’m excited to introduce you to the fantastic folks who make KBS the powerhouse it is today!
